Notes
Got this and several other 1981 shows in a mail trade from
a Deadhead in Germany about fifteen years ago. All are on
Maxell XL II 90 minute cassettes
Only other circulating SBD source, shnid 7918, has major pitch
problems, and loud tape hiss. It is, IMO, at least 5th or 6th gen.
This major upgrade eliminates hiss, and, pitch has been
corrected. A top five favorite performance of 1981.
Transferred, tracked and mastered by Bill Guarneri. May 12, 2014

A delightful surprise
When I got a cassette in the mail back in the day that sounded like this, I’d be ecstatic for weeks. Thanks for the transfer and upload. This sounds

order, and, as I've written before, the more common Terrapin > Playing order prevails, as does the insetion of Samson & Delilah between the two diads. Independent thought. Bobby really starts to fool around with alternative chord voicings during The Music Never Stopped in this era. Really interesting to listen to what he is playing in support of Jerry's riffs. It was about this time that Jerry said that no one played rhythm like Bobby.

These '81 boards are a nice upgrade, but the playback deck suffers from limited upper end frequency response IMO and would benefit from Nak playback deck.
